INTRO
Sheer luxury. That’s what a hen do needs. It needs to be based in an exciting town or city, and have plenty of activities, but most of all it needs luxury. If that sounds like your cup of tea (or glass of wine), then you should absolutely be considering Shire Manor as your luxury hen do house. It’s stunning, luxurious and the sort of place you’ll remember for the rest of your life.
Sleeping up to eighteen people across the main house and a pair of stunning barn conversions, Shire Manor offers everything you could possibly need from a luxury hen do house. Plenty of space, plenty of facilities and the sort of vibe you can only dream about.
LOCATION
Located just a ten minute drive from York City Centre, Shire Manor is set in one of the most picturesque villages you can imagine. The views in every direction are gorgeous. The air is clear, the atmosphere is amazing and it’s just a perfect place to be. Couple this with the fact that it is just a few minutes drive from the centre of York, and you can easily see why it’s one of the best located luxury hen houses on the market. There’s even a bus stop just outside the house – so if you want to bus into the city to save on taxi fees, that’s always a convenient option as well. It’s easy to find and has plenty of parking as well, so even if you are arriving in different cars, you’ll all be able to park with no issues whatsoever.
KITCHEN AND DINING
Any luxury hen house of this sort of size needs to have plenty of kitchen facilities. After all, food and drink are an important part of any hen weekend, so you need to ensure that this hen house gives you what you need in the way of facilities. The kitchen in the main house is the real draw here. After all, this is where you are most likely to be preparing food for the larger group – whether you are making it yourself, just plating up a Chinese takeaway or going the whole hog and hiring in a private chef to serve you some haute cuisine, this kitchen’s got the goods. All the mod cons you would expect, and with it being a part of the larger open plan living area, you don’t have to hide away while cooking.
There are also a couple of other, smaller, kitchens in the two barn conversions, so this allows for plenty of flexibility when it comes to cooking, making drinks and doing anything else you might possibly need a kitchen for. And the dining area is amazing as well. In the main house, there is a huge dining table designed to seat sixteen of you right by the bifold doors, so you can enjoy the gorgeous sunlight and the stunning views while you all tuck into your delicious meal.
BEDROOMS
We’ve already mentioned the fact that this property consists of one main house and two barn conversions, so it’s important to let you know what the bedroom situation is. Across all three of those properties, there are a total of seven bedrooms, with five of these being in the main house. These are divided up as follows:

CONVERTED BARN 2 – King size bed and single bed – Sleeps 3
BATHROOMS
The main house has a total of three bathrooms, and there are also bathrooms in each of the converted barns, so you won’t be lacking in space when you are looking to grab a shower in the morning, or somewhere to do your hair before you go out for the night!
ADDITIONAL ROOMS
Communal areas are where it’s all at when you are on a hen do. Somewhere to sit, chat, drink, relax and enjoy each other’s company. So it’s lucky that the Shire Manor has so many options for you to choose from. Let’s talk about the centrepiece of the property, the lounge in the main house. This is a gorgeous area, with comfy giant sofas, a big TV so that you can all catch up on the steamy goings on in Rivals (or any other show of your choice), and just a generally amazing vibe. That’s not the only option though – there’s also a great little snug with its own separate TV and bean bag seating, so if anyone wants a little private chat, or to watch something different, or even if they just fancy playing a little Xbox, the snug is another great option.
OUTSIDE
And then we come to the outside space that Shire Manor has to offer. What is there to say about it? There’s so much seating and so many places to relax outside at this property that it is frankly absurd! There is loads of garden space, a BBQ, even an outside fridge, to ensure that you don’t have to go back inside to get another drink. That’s not even mentioning the best part – the hot tub. There is a covered hot tub, so you can relax with the girls as the sun sets with a glass of prosecco in hand. A perfect treat.
