Sleeping anywhere up to sixteen guests, this 18th century Cotswold manor house really does need to be seen to be believed. You’ll feel like you are one of the posh characters in a Jilly Cooper novel as you enjoy the sumptuous scenery and the stunning architecture of this absolutely desirable stag and hen party house.
LOCATION
The Great Barn may look like it’s located in the middle of nowhere, with gorgeous views in every direction, but the great news is that it’s only about 40 mins drive from either Bath or Bristol. Which is perfect for any hen do, because it means that whether you want to go out or stay in, you can do both in absolute luxury! It’s easy to get to by road, meaning that no matter where you and the girls are travelling from, you’ll have no problem meeting up and finding your home base for the perfect weekend away.
INSIDE
Walking into the Great Barn is an experience in itself, as you enter through a gorgeous solid oak front door and step into a sumptuous hallway. You’ll then find two ground floor reception rooms, both with a different feel – one is a formal drawing room type of affair, whereas the other is a bit more relaxed in tone.
Having two separate rooms is always a great idea when it comes to a hen do, because if you fancy arranging for some activities to take place at the property then you’ve got the space to do it, and everyone isn’t hanging around awkwardly when the entertainment is setting up. We have plenty of on-site activities that we can arrange, including (but not limited to), such hen do classics as dance classes, cocktail making, life drawing and maybe even a stripper if the hen fancies it!
KITCHEN AND DINING
There is a well-equipped kitchen which holds a contemporary feel but still includes a wide range of modern appliances, including an electric Aga. This makes it a perfect place to create whatever types of meal you fancy, whether it’s a quick cooked breakfast or a extravagant seven course dinner, the kitchen has the space, the tools and the facilities to ensure that it will be perfect – either for you or for a private chef if you choose to spoil yourselves even more!
For dining, this Bristol Luxury Hen House has three options – there’s the intimate formal surroundings of the dining room with its stunning oak furniture and traditional atmosphere. The second option is the Orangery, a bright, friendly, less formal room which is perfect for afternoon teas, lunches or any more relaxed meal – perfect for a brunch or anything picky. The third option is to eat al fresco on the patio, enjoying the stunning views while you eat your stunning meal – with plenty of chairs and tables available, no-one will be perching on a wall or sitting on the floor, everyone will be comfortable and relaxed, enjoying themselves from the first bite of the meal right through to the last.
BEDROOMS
The property has a total of eight bedrooms, four on one floor and four on another. All of these are traditional and elegant and incorporate an en-suite, so no matter who is sharing with who, you’ll have no jealousy issues or people insisting that they got the “best room”, because they are all amazing.
BATHROOMS
I’ve sort of already covered this, since each bedroom has an en-suite, which means that there are eight easy to access bathrooms, making it easy for you and the girls to all get ready at the same time without running into any problems regarding a lack of space.
OUTSIDE
The real selling point of this Bristol Luxury Hen House are the absolutely stunning gardens that you’ll be able to spend time exploring to your heart’s content. As much as the rest of the house is a luxury, the ability to sit out in these gorgeous gardens and take in the amazing Cotswolds views is something else altogether, and should definitely be forming a part of your hen do. You don’t just have to sit out there of course, you could take a picnic, bring out some champagne, maybe even organise a yoga session right there on the grass if you are that way inclined!
