This stunning New Forest hen do accommodation is located in the heart of the New Forest. The half-acre garden is completely private for your exclusive use and even comes with its own little stream. There is a summerhouse, large trampoline, climbing frame, hot tub and ample parking for up to six cars. An array of picnic tables sits in the garden for when the weather is pleasant to enjoy the sunshine. This gorgeous eighteenth century thatched cottage has an exquisite traditional farmhouse finish and is in walking distance to the excellent Horse and Groom country pub (perfect for a quick drink after taking in the surrounding natural beauty). The local village shop and post office are a mere five minutes’ walk from the cottage for any last minute supplies needed. There are six bedrooms which sleep a total of twelve and a darling little shepherd’s hut with a further double bedroom to sleep two and includes a shower room with toilet and sink.

LOCATION

Found on the outskirts of the Forest a short distance away from the market town of Fordingbridge, this gorgeous traditional cottage is easy to reach by car. There are plenty of nature walks and cycle routes available to you right on your doorstep. Castle Hill is a fifteen-minute walk and from there you will have breathtaking views over the landscape of the New Forest Countryside. Don’t forget your camera when you trek up there!

For any nature lovers, you will be in your element; all kinds of birdlife can be seen in the New Forest; grazing deer; roaming horses and donkeys; even wild pigs! You may even spot yourself a New Forest pony or two, just always keep your eyes open and enjoy what nature has to offer.

Fordingbridge is the nearest town and is a short drive away. There are shops here such as Tesco express and a couple of coffeehouses, craft shops and a gelato bar. The bustling town of Ringwood is also only ten minutes away.

Salisbury is a historical cathedral city with a rich culture and shopping scene and is about a twenty-minute drive from Fordingbridge. There is so much to do here, and the high street is an abundance of shops, quirky restaurants and trendy bars!

INSIDE

As you step inside, the rustic décor is finished to a very high standard with traditional wooden beams in the ceiling, exposed brick and wood burners in the living areas. There is a good mix of single, double and king beds in the cottage, with an array of mirrors and clothing storage options for those gorgeous outfits you’ll be wearing over your stay. The large lounge draws you in and you will be cosy in here with the large log burner to keep you toasty. There is plenty of comfortable sofa seating for everyone and a large TV screen to entertain when everyone is feeling jaded from a day of activities. A gorgeous conservatory sits at the back of the house. This is a stunning open and bright space with rattan furniture which suite the farmhouse style of the entire cottage. There is a dining room with a large dining table to seat all fourteen guests. A second wood burner is along one side of this lovely room, perfect for any overspill from the lounge if you want a quieter area to talk or plan the hen activities.

The well-equipped kitchen should have everything you need to cook up your breakfast, lunch or dinner – but don’t forget there is always the option to get a hired chef so you don’t have to do the hard work! On this floor there is also a double room with ensuite which is super handy for accessibility.

The first floor holds the rest of the bedrooms and washrooms and there is a second floor which really utilises the loft space well. Up here there are two rooms sleeping a total of four guests and the soft furnishing are simple with white and black or cream and black. For your entertainment, above the car port, there is a games room equipped with a football table and Table tennis.

The Kitchen

The fully functional kitchen has everything you need for frying up a breakfast fit for royalty. Underfoot there is smooth wood laminate flooring. There is a large fridge freezer you can keep fully stocked and all the crockery, plates, pans and glassware you will need for your stay. A kettle sits on the worktop to assist you with your caffeine fix in the morning, and there is also toaster, oven, hob and microwave all for your use.

There is also a second dining table here with seating for seven guests. A wise decision considering this is where the drinks are usually kept and tends to be the most social room of the cottage.

There are six bedrooms with the following configuration.

(Shepherds Hut) 1 x Kingsize bed with ability to separate into 2 x twin beds. There is also a wash room in here with a heated towel rail.
