INTRO
Sometimes, there is the risk that a hen do might be a little pedestrian, a little bland – especially if you as a group have had several of them at this point. After all, one chain hotel does end up looking quite a lot like another, so when you get the chance to, it’d make sense to really push the boat out when planning a hen do, wouldn’t it? The great news is that we’ve got a hen house that will beat all hen houses – the Grand Hall.
This converted church hall is a stunning property, the exterior looks classic and aged, while the interior is full of contemporary design and up to date facilities. It sleeps anywhere up to twenty guests, so if you’ve got a big hen do and you are looking for a Lake District luxury hen house, then The Grand Hall is definitely the place for you.
LOCATION
Located in a quaint town smack bang in the Lake District area, you’ll find that this location perfectly suits everything you need or want on a hen do. You’ve got a huge amount of space, an entire luxury property at your fingertips, while also having the convenience of a town nearby and a national park on the doorstep as well!
INSIDE
Walking in through the front door you are immediately greeted with a welcoming area that contains some places to sit, an ornate staircase and is lit by a stunning chandelier, which really just sets the tone for everything else you are about to experience. There are various chandeliers throughout the house, with lots of little touches to really hammer home just how much of a Lake District luxury hen house this is. In fact, most of the first floor is taken up by one massive lounge and dining area, which incorporates a huge round dining table for you and the girls to all sit and enjoy your meal together, as well as comfortable lounge areas at each end of the floor, each with their own large TV, so if one group want to watch the Great British Bake Off and the other group want to watch Coronation Street, there won’t be any need for fights!
There’s also a pool table as well, for those of you who may get a little competitive and fancy a head to head challenge to see which of you are the best, after all, a little competition never hurt anyone, right? There are also a selection of little reading nooks for people to hole up in if they want a little quiet time or a chance to catch up just one or two of you.
KITCHEN
The kitchen is a separate room to the open-plan lounge and dining area (though close enough that carrying food from one to the other is not a problem whatsoever). It’s got all the mod cons and kitchen essentials that you’d come to expect, so whether you and the girls are going all out for a meal in house, or just need somewhere to prepare martinis and night and bacon sandwiches in the morning, the Kitchen at the Great Hall is definitely up to any task.
BEDROOMS
I know what you are thinking – sleeping twenty people must be a stretch, right? Well the good news is that no, it absolutely isn’t. There are eight bedrooms at the property, and all of them have their good points, as you can see from the breakdown below:
BEDROOM 1 – 1 King Sized Bed, and it also has a free standing bath in the room itself, as well as an en-suite cloakroom and a door out to a little private balcony that overlooks the open plan area – this is definitely the room the hen should be in!
BEDROOM 2 – 1 Double Bed and en-suite cloakroom
BEDROOM 3 – 1 Double Bed
BEDROOM 4 – 2 Queen Beds and 2 Bunk Beds with a full en-suite bathroom
BEDROOM 5 – 2 Double Beds and en-suite
BEDROOM 6 – 1 Double Bed
BEDROOM 7 – 1 Double Bed
BEDROOM 8 – 1 Double Bed
BATHROOMS
As you can see from the list of bedrooms, four of them have en-suite facilities of some kind or another (whether that’s an en-suite cloakroom or a full bathroom, or something in the middle). As well as these, there are another two bathrooms within the property as well, ensuring that everyone will have plenty of places to take a bath, have a shower, or just get ready for your evening without tripping over each other!
OTHER ROOMS
We’ve obviously mentioned the huge open-plan first floor, which houses the vast majority of the entertainment. But if you follow the steps that lead you all the way down to the basement, you will find one more amazing surprise – an sunken inside spa pool. Perfect for those evenings where you need to relax more than a little, you and the girls can sit there with a glass in hand and put the world to rights while the bubbles sooth your aches and pains away, or you can even watch a film on the smart tv as you relax. There’s also an authentic wooden sauna to spend some time in as well, a perfect combination.
OUTSIDE
The views from the garden are phenomenal, and with plenty of seating and areas to relax, you can soak up the sun during the day without having to go more than thirty yards from your own front door! Whether you are just enjoying the sun, eating al fresco or having a drink or three, it’s perfect for any hen do.
