INTRO

Some hen dos are small, some are medium sized, and some are absolutely huge. And if you are planning a large hen do you need a large hen house to accommodate everyone. That’s just one of the many advantages of Rivers View Lodge, a property that can accommodate up to fifty people. Yes, you read that right, that isn’t a typo, Rivers view lodge can take up to fifty people! Originally built as a hunting lodge in the late nineteenth century, it was then converted into a hotel in the nineteen twenties before becoming the private self catering house that it is today.

LOCATION

Located in the absolutely stunning Wye Valley on the edge of the Royal Forest of Dean, Rivers View lodge is peaceful and relaxing, a perfect place for those hen dos who are looking for peace and tranquillity while celebrating the hen’s future happiness. But don’t worry too much – because although you are located in a serene environment, the local village is only a few minutes walk away, and contains three excellent pubs and a couple of the most authentic restaurants you’ve ever set foot in.

INSIDE

On entering Rivers View lodge, you’ll find that although it is a large hen house, it is easily accessible and navigable – you aren’t going to get lost in the bowels of the property or anything like that! From the reception room, the most obvious place to visit is the lounge, which is filled with comfy sofas and is exceedingly inviting – there’s even a classic fireplace so, if it’s cold, you can really replicate that hunting lodge feeling!

KITCHEN AND DINING

The kitchen is well equipped with everything you might need or want for such a large hen house – so whether you are the type of hen party who intend to cook huge meals, or whether you just want space to cook a pile of pizzas or assemble bacon sandwiches in the morning, you’ll be well served by the kitchen at Rivers View lodge. The dining room is a sight to behold, as there are enough seats for all fifty people to sit and eat at once! That’s not something you’d get in many properties, but again, this is the advantage of looking at a large hen house – it means you’ll be able to eat, drink and enjoy yourselves in a luxury fashion. And if you really don’t want to cook, it is possible to pre-arrange for Rivers View lodge to provide some catering for your hen do if you want to – at an additional cost of course.

BEDROOMS

As you might expect from a property that can sleep up to fifty people, there are a LOT of bedrooms in Rivers View lodge. In fact, there are twenty-five of them, and for your convenience I’ve listed the configurations of them below:

Oak Suite – The most luxurious of all the rooms, this contains a large double bed as well as a leather sofa and amazing views of the river and garden, with adjoining bathroom.

Bedroom 3 – Double bed with en-suite shower room

Bedroom 4 – Double bed with en-suite bathroom

Bedroom 6 – Single bed with en-suite shower room

Bedroom 7 – Double bed with en-suite shower room

Bedroom 8 – Double bed and double sofa bed with en-suite bathroom

Bedroom 9 – Double bed with en-suite bathroom

Bedroom 10 – Double bed, single bed and en-suite bathroom

Bedroom 11 – Double bed with en-suite shower room

Bedroom 12 – King sized bed with en-suite bathroom

Bedroom 13 – King sized bed with en-suite bathroom

Bedroom 14 – Double bed and single bed with en-suite shower room

Bedroom 15 – Double bed, single bunk beds and an additional single bed, with en-suite bathroom

Bedroom 16 – King sized bed with en-suite bathroom

Bedroom 17 – Double bed with en-suite shower room

Bedroom 18 – Double bed with en-suite shower room

Bedroom 19 – Four poster bed with en-suite bathroom

Bedroom 20 – King sized bed and single bed with en-suite bathroom

Bedroom 21 – Double bed with en-suite shower room

Bedroom 23 – Double bed with en-suite shower room

Bedroom 24 – Double bed with en-suite bathroom

Bedroom 26 – Super King sized bed with 2 additional bunk beds and an en-suite shower room.

The bedrooms are all spread over the first and second floors of the property.

BATHROOMS

As you can see from the descriptions above, all of the bedrooms have their own en-suite bath or shower rooms, ensuring that there are plenty of facilities for all guests. There are also additional cloakrooms and bathrooms downstairs as well.

ADDITIONAL ROOMS

There are two communal rooms I’ve not mentioned yet – both of which are always very popular when this large hen house is being utilised. The first is the games and party room, which is huge and a great place for you all to gather, play games, dance, do whatever you feel like doing. The second room is the Bar, which is an actual, full sized bar (and a small lounge area with it) so you can all enjoy a drink and a relax in what feels like your own private pub without ever having to leave Rivers View Lodge.

OUTSIDE

While there is plenty to do inside Rivers View Lodge, the reason we call it Rivers View is the amazing view of the river – and where best to see that from than outside? There is nothing better of an evening than finding yourselves sat out on the terrace, drink in hand, chatting to each other and watching the sun set over the river – a stunning moment in a stunning setting.
