Massive Hen Party House Sleeping 50 Guests
Some hen dos are small, some are medium-sized, and some are absolutely huge. If you are planning a large hen do, you need a large hen house to accommodate everyone. That’s just one of the many advantages of River View Lodge, a property that can accommodate up to fifty people.
Yes, you read that right—River View Lodge can take up to fifty people! Originally built as a hunting lodge in the late nineteenth century, it was then converted into a hotel in the 1920s before becoming the private self-catering house that it is today.
Location: Wye Valley & Forest of Dean
Located in the absolutely stunning **Wye Valley** on the edge of the Royal Forest of Dean, River View Lodge is peaceful and relaxing. It is a perfect place for those hen dos looking for peace and tranquillity while celebrating.
But don’t worry too much—although you are located in a serene environment, the local village is only a few minutes' walk away and contains three excellent pubs and a couple of the most authentic restaurants you’ve ever set foot in.
Grand Lounge & Reception
On entering River View Lodge, you’ll find that although it is a large hen house, it is easily accessible and navigable. From the reception room, the most obvious place to visit is the lounge, which is filled with comfy sofas and is exceedingly inviting. There’s even a classic fireplace so, if it’s cold, you can really replicate that hunting lodge feeling!
Dining for 50 & Chefs Kitchen
The kitchen is well equipped with everything you might need for such a large hen house. Whether you are the type of hen party who intends to cook huge meals, or whether you just want space to cook a pile of pizzas or assemble bacon sandwiches in the morning, you’ll be well served here.
The dining room is a sight to behold, as there are enough seats for **all fifty people** to sit and eat at once! That’s not something you’d get in many properties. It means you’ll be able to eat, drink and enjoy yourselves in a luxury fashion. If you really don’t want to cook, it is possible to pre-arrange for a **Private Chef** to provide catering for your hen do.
Private Bar & Games Room
There are two communal rooms I’ve not mentioned yet—both of which are always very popular. The first is the **Games and Party Room**, which is huge and a great place for you all to gather, play games, dance, or do whatever you feel like doing.
The second room is the **Bar**, which is an actual, full-sized bar (with a small lounge area) so you can all enjoy a drink and relax in what feels like your own private pub without ever having to leave River View Lodge.
25 En-Suite Bedrooms
As you might expect from a property that can sleep up to fifty people, there are a LOT of bedrooms in River View Lodge. In fact, there are twenty-five of them, spread over the first and second floors.
Oak Suite: Large double bed, leather sofa, river views, adjoining bathroom.
Bedrooms 1, 2, 8: Double bed + double sofa bed + en-suite.
Bedrooms 3, 4, 7, 9, 11, 17, 18, 21, 23, 24: Double bed + en-suite.
Bedrooms 5, 12, 13, 16: King sized bed + en-suite.
Bedroom 6: Single bed + en-suite.
Bedroom 10, 14, 20: Double/King bed + single bed + en-suite.
Bedroom 15: Double bed, bunk beds, single bed + en-suite.
Bedroom 19: Four poster bed + en-suite.
Bedroom 26: Super King bed + 2 bunk beds + en-suite.
As you can see, all of the bedrooms have their own en-suite bath or shower rooms, ensuring that there are plenty of facilities for all guests. There are also additional cloakrooms and bathrooms downstairs.
Riverside Terrace
While there is plenty to do inside, the reason we call it River View is the amazing view of the river! There is nothing better of an evening than sitting out on the terrace, drink in hand, chatting to each other and watching the sunset over the river.
