INTRO

So instead of just having some rooms, why not go for an entire house, and really embrace the luxury hen do that you so richly deserve? LOCATION

Dean’s retreat is located in the town of Colford, which itself is located in the Forest of Dean (hence the name of the house!). This market town is quaint, peaceful and beautiful, so if you are looking to spend your weekend relaxing and enjoying yourselves I cannot think of anywhere better. And if you want to embrace a more traditional big hen night out, then there are several options within driving distance – Gloucester is 35 minutes drive, Newport is 40 minutes, or if you really want to go all out then Cardiff, one of the most popular hen do destinations in the UK, is less than an hour’s drive away – so you can have a big night out and still spend the rest of your weekend in this luxurious retreat.

INSIDE

This amazing property is gorgeous, and the moment you walk in you’ll see that. The décor is stunning, the whole vibe is luxurious, and there are not one but two lounges right there on the ground floor when you walk in – one with a big TV and comfy sofas to relax on, and the other with chairs and a sofa surrounding a brick fireplace with woodburning stove – giving you that true country house feel.

KITCHEN

With a kitchen like this you aren’t going to go hungry on your luxury hen do (or if you do, that’s your own fault for not utilising the facilities!) It’s a true chefs kitchen with everything you could possibly want – all mod cons, a huge American-style Fridge Freezer, massive stove, two microwaves and everything else you and the girls could possibly need, whether you are planning on cooking a huge five course banquet or just need the space for making bacon sandwiches and re-heating takeaway! There’s also a dedicated dining room with a huge table you can all fit round, ensuring that any meals will all be eaten in comfort, and style, and you’ll all be entertaining yourselves throughout as food is consumed and drinks are quaffed.

BEDROOMS

There’s always a concern about what the sleeping arrangements are going to be whenever you plan a hen do, so we tend to find that it is easiest to let you know exactly what you’ve got, so that you can plan out your sleeping plan before you get there! As mentioned before, Dean’s Retreat sleeps up to twenty five of you, which is split across eleven bedrooms. The breakdown for these is as follows:

Bedroom 1 – Double bed and additional sofa bed, with an ensuite and shower

Bedroom 2 – Super king bed (or two singles) with ensuite shower room

Bedroom 3 – Super king bed (or two singles) with ensuite shower room

Bedroom 4 – King size bed with ensuite shower room

Bedroom 5 – Super king bed (or two singles) with ensuite shower room

Bedroom 6 – King size bed with ensuite shower room

Bedroom 7 – Double bed with an ensuite shower room

Bedroom 8 – King size Bed, two single beds, with an ensuite bathroom

Bedroom 9 – King size bed, one single bed, with an ensuite bathroom

Bedroom 10 – Two single beds with an ensuite shower room

Bedroom 11 – Double bed with an adjacent shower room

These Bedrooms are all split across three floors, with two on the ground floor, six on the first floor and three on the top floor.

BATHROOMS

As you will already have seen if you read through the descriptions of the bedrooms above and didn’t just skim read it, all but one of the rooms have an ensuite bathroom (the one that doesn’t have an ensuite one has an adjacent one which is right next door and only used by people in that bedroom) – this means that no matter how many of you are trying to get ready at the same time, you’ll easily manage it!

GAMES ROOM

As well as the two lounges, the kitchen and the dining room that we’ve already mentioned, there is one other communal area for you to take advantage of during your luxury hen do, and that’s the games room. This has comfy sofas and, taking pride of place in the middle of the room, a pool table – perfect for having some friendly competition once you have had a few glasses of wine each!

OUTSIDE

The magic of this property doesn’t stop within the walls, oh no. Outside there is a garden where you can all sit on the furnished patio and enjoy a drink or two while marvelling at the beautiful views, and there is also a bbq, so if you don’t want to cook inside, you can just throw a few burgers, sausages, whatever else you fancy on the bbq and enjoy your food outside on a warm summers evening. And then, the cherry on top of the cake is that traditional luxury hen do item – a hot tub. Yes, the garden has it’s very own hot tub where you and the girls can sit back and relax after a hard day – whether you’ve been out exploring or just playing pool and enjoying the house, the hot tub will always be there to help you see the day out right.
