Deep in the heart of the North Pennines National Landscape you’ll find the Wildwood Manor, a superb rural property situated on a private estate spanning an impressive 2.5 acres. The property itself can sleep up to 24 guests in 10 bedrooms spread over three floors. The Wildwood Manor is a stunning building comparable to that of a luxurious countryside hotel. It will certainly give your group the ‘wow’ factor as you arrive, which makes for the perfect start to your hen celebration.
Heart of the North Pennines
Situated in the heart of the beautiful North Pennines National Landscape, The Wildwood Manor is the perfect rural countryside retreat to celebrate your hen do. The major town of Middlesborough and City of Newcastle are one to one and a half hours away meaning the Wildwood Manor is perfect for groups who want to leave the hustle and bustle of city or town life in their rear view mirror.
As the Wildwood Manor is so rural, the nearest train stations are a 40 minute drive away meaning that arriving by car offers the most convenient and cost effective way of arriving at the property.
For a quick convenience store you can head into Middleton In Teesdale to pick up the essentials but for a more comprehensive supply run you’ll head to Barnard Castle for larger supermarket shopping. Morrisons is the nearest and they will deliver to the property. The owners can arrange a pre arrival delivery and accept, unpack and refrigerate/freeze your groceries with prior arrangement which is super handy and leaves more time for you to enjoy your celebration. If you fancy getting a little social with the locals, the nearest pub is a 15 minute walk or 0.7 miles away is the Forresters Bar and Restaurant, a warm, casual village pub with a well thought of menu and an impressive selection of drinks.
Mobile Hen Activities & Country Pursuits
As you can expect with such a rural location, walks in the rolling hills of the surrounding countryside are an highly recommended option even if the nightclubs aren’t! despite that, it doesn’t mean your weekend will be short of things to do. We have a a fantastic selection of in-house activities that come to the property to entertain you. Utilising the spacious rooms inside, we can arrange a cheeky butler to serve you and play games or a private chef to create you a delicious 2 course meal of your chosen style. Farmhouse Kitchen & Smeg Range
The farmhouse style kitchen diner is stylish and comes with all the associated kitchen appliances you’d expect from an accommodation designed to fit 24 guests and the spacious kitchen surface area makes food prep easy. Cooking is easy too, with a Smeg range cooker and an additional electric over as well as a hob. The generous wine chiller space will be a welcome addition for hen dos and clearing up is a simple process as the property has two dishwashers.

Wildwood Manor also boats six-bathroom suites and four additional WC’s. High quality bedding, linens and towels are provided, but we always recommend you bring your own if you’re planning on using the hot tub.
Dual Lounges & Private Games Room
There are two sitting rooms one on the ground floor and one on the first floor, perfect for those that need a chill out area. There is also a games room on the ground floor with a full size pool table, perfect for when things get a little competitive or you fancy a pool tournament. There are comfy sofas in all the lounges and snugs to help you relax and enjoy the company of your closest friends and family.
2.5-Acre Estate: 2 Hot Tubs & Tennis
The Wildwood Manor oodles of outdoor space, as you will have read already the property sits in two and a half acres! As such, you have plenty of room in which to amble around and take in the stunning surroundings, but when you’re not out exploring you have the option of a spot of tennis with the all-weather tennis courts or you can relax and make use of one of the two hot tubs that are there. As you would expect there is plenty of garden furniture fo you to lounge around on and there’s a BBQ available of you fancy some alfresco dining.
