So, on those rare times during your hen do that there’s some ‘me’ time, you won’t be short of tings to do, see and explore when your home base for the weekend is The Silver Screen Villa. There really is something for everyone in close proximity, you can explore the many towns and walks in the peak district or you can go shopping and enjoy some civilisation and nightlife in nearby Belper or Derby, so even though the idea of a hen weekend is to get everyone together, you can still enjoy some down time nearby. Next up, groups will be delighted at the amount of space offered at The Silver Screen Villa, Perfect for socialising, playing games or simply chilling out. You can also enjoy some of the amazing in-house activities that we can arrange as part of your hen party package, like the ever-popular private chef, or a atmospheric Murder Mystery evening complete with professional actors as hosts. The Silver Screen Villa is a luxurious country manor set in five acres of spectacular gardens that overlooks the Derwent Valley. On arrival you’ll notice, Centuries old Monkey Puzzle trees line the impressive winding driveway leading to the grand setting of your stag and hen do accommodation. The private driveway, reminiscent of a typical manor house your see in TV shows, has ample parking, and the enclosed private grounds are fully surrounded by trees, with vast rolling hills beyond ready for you to explore at your leisure. You will be impressed as soon as you set eyes on this grand building, and with two lounge areas, a games room with gaming tables, board games, and a massive dining conservatory with its own bar and free Wi-Fi throughout; you can be sure you will not get bored here on your hen weekend!

THEME

The Silver Screen has a distinct theme and the clue is in the name, Celebrity and Hollywood! All of the 16 rooms are named after some of the finest actors from yesteryear, think Maralyn Monroe, Audry Hepburn, Frank Sinatra or James Bond, each room, a celebration to the Silver Screen and careers of some of Hollywood’s finest.

LOCATION

Nestled down a country lane with astounding panoramic views of a folding landscape, it is just fourteen minutes’ walk to the nearest pub, where you will be able to enjoy a glass of your favourite bubbles or a beer along with their delicious menu, it’s well worth a visit. Belper is the nearest town and is a mere seven minutes by car. Here you will find the usual facilities a town has to offer – there is a couple of cinemas, shops, restaurants and supermarkets if you need any supplies. Not to mention museums and art galleries for the sophisticated visitor. The town’s name ‘Belper’ is thought to have derived from the French name ‘Beaurepaire’ meaning beautiful retreat which is a charming name for such a scenic part of the country. It is a twenty-minute car ride to Derby which is the nearest city whilst Nottingham is less than an hour away if you fancied a visit. One of the big draws of this fantastic party house is the easy access to the famous and stunning Peak District National Park, easily one of the most scenic parts of the country. With it’s rolling hills, rocky outcrops and characteristic dry walling, this rugged landscape if perfect for those that would like to explore the countryside. The Peak District also has several towns well worth visiting, most have country pubs, galleries, antique shops and shops to explore on your stag or hen do.

INSIDE

With such a grand entrance, you will expect a grand looking interior and this one doesn’t disappoint. There are two lounges, and a games room with casino tables, jukebox and pool tables. This leads on to the magnificent living / dining hall conservatory. Furnished to seat 40+ guests, the space in this room will blow you away. It is decorated with hanging paper-effect lanterns of all shapes and sizes. Leather chairs and long tables line up on one side, with rattan seating towards the glass windows at the end and a bar for good measure. Beautiful large grey floor tiles complete the scene set for a party atmosphere with an air of sophistication and style. Hire in chefs to delight you for dinner or arrange for activities to come to you. What a room to have full access to for your mealtimes and throughout your stay! This leads to the outside terrace, styled beautifully with blues and whites to reflect the brightness of daylight and the magnificence of the panoramic views over glass balustrades. The sixteen bedrooms have been carefully designed and decorated to represent different icons throughout history.

The Kitchen

The well-equipped kitchen quarters is a fantastic space with everything you should need to cook up delicious meals for all your guests. In fact, the kitchen style resembles what you might find in a restaurant with pots and pans filling under counter space in the island and a saladette counter which is perfect for catering to large parties. So much thought has gone into the design of this kitchen, with stainless steel construction for easy cleaning.

As you would expect, the outside of this beautiful villa is just as wonderful as the inside. The terrace area outside the dining space is large with lots of seating and amazing views. There is also a plunge pool and hot tub, a BBQ, arctic’ cabin, luscious gardens, a climbing frame, and acres of gorgeous woodland and fields for you to explore. This property will not disappoint!
