The Swan is a spacious townhouse located deep in the Derbyshire Dales. On the outskirts of The Peak District and it is a property steeped in history; being originally built in the thirteenth century though todays Swan Party house incorporates later buildings dating from the Georgian period from the eighteenth century. This gives the Swan Peak District hen do party house a charismatic and traditional vibe and combined the mix of olden architecture and modern creature comforts will give you both a homely and luxurious base for your hen do.
Interestingly, the parkland opposite the property was originally created for the original owners in the early Tudor period for hunting.
LOCATION
This lovely Peak District Hen Do Party House is located just five minutes out from an old market town lined with cobblestone streets and cultured Georgian townhouses. The Swan is just a mile shy of the south boundary of the Peak District National Park. You couldn’t be in a better position to see the best of the southern White Peak, a green landscape with imposing limestone formations. A National Trust area to visit, of which there are many in the local countryside; is the idyllic Dovedale and its grass-topped ravine. The far-reaching grassland is used by sheep and cattle for grazing, so don’t be surprised if you have some guests walking with you for part of your way a great way to make friends on your Peak District Hen Do. Plot boundaries are marked by a rustic dry-stone wall. The valley has ancient ash woodland, grassland carpeted with wildflowers in summer and lots of intriguing limestone formations. Cyclists can link into specific routes into the national park via the Tissington Trail, which has bike hire centres at both trailheads. The village, itself has over 200 of listed buildings going back to Tudor times, from old coaching inns to elegant townhouses and converted alms-houses. It has also kept some of its eccentric traditions and two outdoor markets which trade each week. You will be able to explore the local villages, bike paths, hiking routes or use the car to go further afield to places such as Alton Towers and the rest of the Peak District.
INSIDE
The inside has a very modest décor given the history linked to this area, and on the ground floor there is a fully equipped kitchen and an impressively large lounge with big sofas lining the inside of the room with a wall mounted TV for entertainment. There is a large dining hall conservatory fitted out with tables and chairs. Leading out from this room to the outside is an enclosed courtyard garden. On the ground floor there is also a bedroom with wheelchair access, and a games room complete with air hockey table. The rest of the bedrooms and restrooms are upstairs and feel just as spacious and grand as the downstairs areas. There is free wifi throughout the property.
The Kitchen
The modern kitchen has everything you need for the Gordon Ramsey of your crew to cook you up a fabulous breakfast! It is beautifully designed with everything you will need for your stay. Shiny black countertops and lots of space which is great for gathering in (as we all know the kitchen is the most popular room in the house) There is an island in the middle for extra chopping space, and a bar is propped up in the corner for pouring out the bubbles and mixing up the cocktails for your party. Bar stools also accompany the bar. There are plenty of utensils and lots of gorgeous crockery to ensure you need for nothing if you cook up meals yourselves – don’t forget there is always an option of hiring a chef to cook for you. The dining conservatory is done out in neutral colours of beige and brown with grey rattan lounging chairs, and the room is effortlessly complimented by a gorgeous forest print on the wall.

Take a step out of this beautiful property and you will be greeted by the charming, enclosed courtyard area; Garden furniture surrounds this space with sun shade from an umbrella, and a bbq is also available for your use. There is a firepit for when the air gets chilly, or just because its always nice to have a fire pit going when the bubbles and the chat is flowing with a large party. Lastly, and certainly not least – there is the luxurious hot tub. With all these fantastic facilities at your fingertips, who would blame you if you stayed to enjoy the accommodation for the duration of your stay!
