The Swallow Peak District

INTRO

On the South East side of the fabulous Peak District you’ll find one of our most popular Peak District Hen Weekend party houses. It’s proximity to the stunning National Park being one of the main reasons, however there are a number of other ‘draws’ that ensure stag and hen weekends consistently choose this superb stag and hen do accommodation. The Swallow was built in 1804, this listed building is a grand country house Manor located just south of the lake district nestled in the Derbyshire Dales. The private space is entirely your own except the shared use of a swimming pool, should you require it. There is ample parking for all guests who travel by car. Free wifi is available throughout the property grounds which includes a fabulous outside area for seating and activities. There is an extensive area of gardens attached to the property and an Orchard just behind the house to explore. This charming accommodation sleeps up to nineteen guests and is the perfect base to discover the surrounding areas, such as the lake district, or Alton Towers. Not to mention locally around Cassington Water. The nearest City is Derby, which is 30 minutes drive whilst Nottingham at an hour away for any of the group who fancy seeing some city lights and dancing the night away.

LOCATION

Located deep in the folding landscape of the Derbyshire Dales, this striking party manor accommodation is easy to reach by car and there is so much to discover in this lush green heart of the midlands. The closest attraction is of Cossington Water right on your doorstep, which is a reservoir and a major hub for leisure activities such as walking, cycling (cycle hire is available), fly fishing, bird watching, sailing, canoeing and windsurfing. There is a great deal of open land surrounding the reservoir; so much land, that within the facilities around the visitor centre, there are often events hosted here. This includes a music festival – “The Festival of the Peak”. Bird hides can also be discovered in areas all around this water point, with hikes between them popular with many tourists. “The Miners Arms” pub is a short walk away from your accommodation, and for supplies the near village of Ashbourne has a myriad of shopping choices. A couple that would work really well at this accommodation is the hilarious Comedy Roast, where a professional comedian will visit the property and roast the stag or the bride to be (with some prior preparation, of course) or the ever popular Murder mystery featuring professional actors as hosts to guide the story. For the craft fans, you can make your own fragrance or design and make fascinators or, if you’re feeling naughty, why not get together and have a laugh with our ‘Adult Painting’ activity. INSIDE

This gorgeous manor is decorated tastefully but still practical to ensure you have a comfortable stay. The grand dining hall is rustic in style with wooden beams in the ceiling and a majestic feature fireplace, with a cosy log burner in the centre. Striking solid oak tables characterize this room, with lanterns either side of the fireplace for well-placed decoration. The size of this room really lends itself to being the main hub where you can play games and have your early evening nibbles and drinks. It’s a big lounge, with big windows that let in lots of light giving a roomy airy feel to the room. Also great for curling up to a good book or working your way through the DVD collection on the large screen TV. The bedrooms really make great use of having beds that can be doubles or split into singles to ensure everyone can have their own bed if required and not having to share. Each room is tastefully done with its own colour scheme and style, welcoming you to enjoy a comfortable night’s sleep for your stay. There are six bedrooms (one with an ensuite) on the first floor along with two restrooms. There are three bedrooms (one with ensuite) on the second floor plus a shower room. The kitchen is beautifully finished in a rustic style with farmhouse chic cupboards and an Aga oven taking up half of one side of the kitchen. The stone look tiles beautifully fit in with the style of the manor, where low beams also characterize this space too.

The Kitchen

The well-equipped kitchen has everything you need in a kitchen to delight your guests if you are planning to cook up food in the manor. With such a large dining hall fitting in all the guests, it may be a nice idea to get a chef in to cook for you, then no one needs to take on the responsibility fo cooking for everyone! There are the usual appliances you would expect in the kitchen and all the crockery, plates, pans and glassware you will need for your stay.

There are nine bedrooms, each with enchanting names from nearby areas around Cossington Water. All bed linen is provided. The rooms are in the following configuration:

Outside & The Hot tub

The outdoor area is vast – the patio deck has seating and a BBQ area for all to enjoy. The Swimming pool is shared with a neighbouring property with further seating and grassy areas to spread out or play activities. The hot tub is a must and from there you can view thee rolling hills beyond the property or gaze up at the stars at night while you relax and enjoy your stay.
