Five of the Best (Stag Weekend Drinking Games)
Our Top Five Stag Weekend Drinking Games!
Disclaimer – Before we
start, we at The Stag and Hen Experience must state that we encourage
everyone to drink responsibly, and to remind all of our readers that
these games can be played with soft drinks and be just as much fun.
So, you’re off on a stag do and you need some drinking games to play?
Well we've got you covered! All of these drinking games are perfect for
stag weekends (or hen weekends for that matter) and we can personally
vouch that they are all great fun! Here we have a list of our top five
games to play on your stag do – can you handle it?
NOTE – A lot of these games require you to pick a starting player. You
can, of course, pick the Stag – but if you want to mix it up, other
popular methods include seeing who can down a pint quickest, who draws
the highest card, or even who embarrassed themselves most on the night
before!
This classic drinking game involves you all to be able to play pool – so grab your cue and get involved!
What you need:
- Pool Table
- 3 Shots for each player
- Some small change (£1 Coins and 50p’s)
Preparation:
- Pour each player three shots – these are now each players “lives”
- Everyone places £1 in the kitty (In the ‘pre-smoking ban’ era, this would have been an ashtray, but nowadays it could be anything!)
- The starting player breaks.
The Game:
- Once the break has been made, the game starts properly.
- Each player takes a shot: if you pot a ball, then you pass your cue over with a smug grin -
- If you fail to pot a ball, you must drink one of your “lives”
- If you finish the game and pot the black, then you can nominate any player to “lose a life”.
- That player must also put a 50p fine in the kitty.
- Once you have lost all three lives, you are out!
The winner is the last man standing with any “lives” left – and he takes the kitty! If he’s nice he might even buy the next round with it...
This is one of our favourites here at the Stag and Hen Experience, but it does involve a little preparation – maybe one for the hotel before you head out on the town?
What you need:
- Long Table
- Ping Pong Ball
- 12 glasses of drink
Preparation:
- Put a small amount of drink into each of the 12 glasses. (Please note – glasses must be big enough for a ping pong ball to land in – tumblers/half pints/pint glasses)
- Arrange them into two triangles, one at each end of the table.
The Game:
- This can be played individually or in teams. (I recommend teams for your own sanity!)
- Toss a coin to see who starts first. That team (Team A) then attempts to throw the ping pong ball into one of the glasses of the opposing team (Team B). If they succeed, one member of Team B drinks the contents of the glass and flips it over. If Team A miss, then it is Team B’s go.
- It is important to note that the Ping Pong Ball can bounce only once on the table. Any more than once and the throw is disqualified.
The winning team is the team who still have drinks left, when the other team have drunk all of theirs. As an extra punishment, the losing team then have to drink all of the winning teams remaining drinks.
Then set up and start again!
What you need:
- Golf Ball
- Drinks
- The ability to tell Left from Right!
Preparation:
- Give your starting player the golf ball and declare him the Chairman.
- Everyone states which is their weak hand (i.e. left hand if you are right handed, and vice versa!)
The Game:
- For the rest of the evening, everyone has to do all their drinking with their weak hand.
- If the Chairman sees you using your strong hand at any point, he drops the golf ball in your drink, which means that you have to finish it in one go.
- If the offender successfully finishes his drink, the golf ball transfers to him and he becomes the new Chairman. And so the game continues throughout the rest of the evening...
What you need:
- A Forfeit Drink
- 3 Coins each
- Basic Numerical Skills
Preparation:
- Every player secretly puts some, none or all of their coins in their hand.
- Once this is done, every player places their clenched fist on the table.
The Game:
- The starting player guesses how many coins everyone has in their hands in total.
- So, for example, if 6 people are playing, the number could be anywhere between 0 and 18. Play then proceeds clockwise around the circle, with each player guessing how many coins are in play. Once all guesses have been made, the hands are opened, and the coins counted.
- If a player has guessed the correct number, they retire from the game, and the next round continues with the remaining players . If no-one guesses correctly, all players remain in the game.
The loser is the last person still in the game – and he has to drink the forfeit drink.
This is a battle between two players, and can often be used to solve arguments (we’ve certainly used it that way in the past!)
What you need:
- Shot Glass
- Drink
- 2 Dice
Preparation:
- The two players sit opposite each other, with a full shot glass in front of them.
- Each player has a corner man, who is holding the bottle from which the shot glass is to be refilled.
The Game:
- Each player rolls their dice at the same time.
- Whoever has the highest number wins, and the loser drinks.
- The loser's corner man then instantly refills his glass, and they roll again..
- The overall winner is the last man standing... Good luck.
