Whilst we appreciate that this activity may not be for everyone, many people feel that a visit to Poland would not be complete without paying their respects to one of the biggest travesties of the 20th century. By 2010, Auschwitz, had seen 29 million visitors, and over 1.3 million people a year pass through the famous iron gates crowned with the infamous motto, "Arbeit Macht Frei" ("Work Sets You Free"). Accordingly, we receive more than our fair share of enquiries for our stag dos in Poland, and we felt that one of the world's most haunting museums should therefore be included on our activities list.
Perhaps not a standard stag activity, but this really is a place of enormous historical significance. It is often difficult to understand the depravity of the World War Two concentration camps without actually confronting them in the flesh, and this trip will really help you to understand the heinous nature of these locations. Your trip will take you to both parts of the former camp - Auschwitz and Birkenau. An educator will help you to understand the horrific conditions that people lived in whilst at the camp, before showing you the extermination centres that claimed the lives of over 1.1 million men, women and children. This is a truly unique and harrowing place, and whilst it may not have the upbeat nature of some of our other activities, it is certainly an experience that you won't quickly forget.
For any history enthusiasts, or more broadly anyone holding their stag do in Poland, this is a unique trip that everyone should really take. So if you'd like to visit Auschwitz as part of your stag do weekend, please contact us today so we can put together the best possible package for you.
